Beyond Neoclassicism. Kéramos at Palazzo Milzetti
Palazzo Milzetti National Museum of the Neoclassical Age in Romagna, on the occasion of Argillà and in collaboration with MIC Faenza
Presentation by Domenico Iaracà, with the participation of the museum director Elena Rossoni and the Mayor of Faenza Massimo Isola.
On Friday 30 August at 6 p.m., Palazzo Milzetti will inaugurate an installation organised on the occasion of ‘Argillà’, an international ceramics festival and market exhibition, which takes place in Faenza from 30 August to 1 September.
Promoted by the GULLIarte gallery in Savona on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the ‘Kéramos’ exhibition and in concert with the museum, the exhibition features works by four internationally experienced artists: Marian Heyerdahl, Ole Lislerud, Sandro Lorenzini and Renza Sciutto.
Four different artistic languages in an exhibition that puts them in dialogue with the decorative apparatus of frescoes and stuccoes created by the painter Felice Giani and his collaborators in the National Museum of the Neoclassical Age in Romagna in Palazzo Milzetti, one of the premises of the Emilia-Romagna National Museums Regional Management.
Large-scale sculptures and porcelain panels, figurative and other abstract works, some of which were designed for the event, will present the artists’ research on different themes – the sacred and the role of women, war and its civilian victims – so as to offer an example of the versatility of the contemporary ceramic medium. Themes that intercept as many suggestions coming from the extraordinary neoclassical residence, in a timeless dialogue, always topical, centred on great themes of humanity.
Free admission.
The exhibition will be open from 31 August to 15 September, during museum visiting hours.
Free admission on 30-31 August and 1 September on the occasion of Argillà.
