ISIA Faenza and Ente Ceramica Faenza collaborate for the third consecutive year in the realisation of an exhibition and communication project dedicated to the enhancement of Faenza’s ceramic identity, conceived and developed within the Communication Design II course, with the students of the second year of the two-year specialised course in Communication Design, curated by Alessandro Gori. Faenza mia, Faenza mia, Faenza mia, is a triplet-title that evokes and synthesises in the rooms of the ISIA’s Bruno Munari Library, a new step in a journey. Faenza mia, Faenza mia, Faenza mia, is conceived as a game of Chinese boxes, multiple focuses that change depending on the viewer’s point of view, without giving any one of them a defined pre-eminence. An exhibition of Faenza’s ceramic excellence. An exhibition of exhibitions that meditates on the concept of display. The point of view of Pietre Miliari (2021/22) on the relationship with territory, land, origins and tradition. The point of view of In Dialogo (2022/23) on the wide-ranging relational dynamics between craftsmanship and industrial design, ceramic artist and student, production of the artefact and communication – of the same, and of the exhibition. A didactic device. A kaleidoscope of facets. FAENZA MIA is a trans-disciplinary research project that has given the students the opportunity to embody several roles linked to different design times, from the curatorial one, connected with the research and definition of a conceptual idea, to that of the set designer and then to all the communication needs, from the definition of a graphic identity to the development of several tangent projects including a publication produced by Carta Bianca Editore, reissued on the occasion of Argillà 2024 and once again available in the exhibition.
